Odoo to Metronome - Scorecards Without Manual Updates
IntegrationSync financial and operating metrics from Odoo to Metronome so leadership scorecards stay current without manual report updates.

How do you automate Odoo to Metronome?
AutoIDM syncs financial and operating metrics from Odoo to Metronome. Your leadership scorecards update automatically, and no one has to copy numbers out of reports before the meeting.
Your team decides what each metric means and approves the result. We build the integration, monitor it, and support it after deployment.
Schedule a meetingWhy should you sync Odoo metrics to Metronome automatically?
Your leaders use Metronome to run meetings, but the numbers live in Odoo. Without an integration, someone runs the same reports and copies the values into Metronome before every meeting. The work is repetitive and easy to forget. When the scorecard is stale or wrong, the meeting gets interrupted while someone checks the numbers.
We think the best solution is to sync the data from Odoo and update Metronome automatically.
Without an automated update:
- Employees waste time copying the same figures every week or month.
- Leadership makes decisions with stale numbers when a report is updated late.
- Manual mistakes put values in the wrong reporting period.
- Finance loses control when a calculation gets rebuilt outside Odoo.
AutoIDM will read the numbers your business already calculates in Odoo and update Metronome automatically. Odoo remains the system of record, and Metronome is ready when the meeting starts.
How does Odoo to Metronome work?
AutoIDM's Odoo to Metronome sync starts with the metrics your leaders already review. Common examples include year-to-date income, operating cash, accounts receivable, or any other number already calculated from Odoo data.
Finance identifies where each number comes from in Odoo. It might be a report or an API record. We read the result, validate it, and update the corresponding Metronome metric for the correct date. If the number is missing, late, or unexpected, we alert your team instead of publishing it.
The result: less time updating scorecards, consistent numbers, and meetings that start with current information.
What about getting everyone on the same page in finance and IT? What's the project plan look like?
Getting the left hand to know what the right hand is doing in business is complicated. At AutoIDM, we have established a proven process to make sure everyone in your business is on the same page. The Odoo to Metronome (and our general integration process) is adjusted depending on your needs, but it follows these main points.
- Initial Meeting - (30 min) Bring all stakeholders together to align on the timeline, expectations, and responsibilities.
- Access - (30 min) Architect a secure solution that gives AutoIDM access to what we need while keeping your IT team in control.
- Business Rules - (1 hour) Align Odoo with Metronome, build the rule set, and define the testing plan.
- Testing - (~2 hours) Iterate with your champion to validate the integration and resolve issues quickly.
- Deployment - Final deploy and full support for any adjustments or changes. Odoo to Metronome is now up and running.
This process works because our integrations are built specifically for the way your team uses Odoo and Metronome.
What is Odoo?
Odoo is an open-source suite of business apps that gives small and growing companies the tools they need to run their operations (CRM, accounting, inventory, HR, and more) in one integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. For this integration, it is the source of the financial transactions and approved calculations that feed leadership metrics.
What is Metronome?
Metronome Software is a business operating system for leadership meetings, priorities, scorecards, and metrics. A metric has an owner, a reporting frequency, a target, and actual values. This article is about Metronome Software from Metronomics, not the similarly named usage-billing platform.
Metronome metrics documentationWhat features does AutoIDM have?
AutoIDM automates your existing reporting process. Finance keeps using Odoo, and leadership keeps using Metronome.
Here's a short list of what we can do for you:
- Read financial and operating metrics from Odoo.
- Update the matching Metronome scorecard values.
- Put each value in the correct reporting period.
- Validate values before they reach the scorecard.
- Alert your team when a number is missing, late, or invalid.
- Monitor failures and maintain the integration for you.
What software do I need for Odoo to Metronome?
You'll need Odoo (cloud or self-hosted both work) and Metronome Software. We'll work with your finance team to choose where each metric comes from. The rest is up to our integration team.

Which metrics can sync from Odoo to Metronome?
Any metric that Odoo can calculate consistently and Metronome can accept as a numerical actual is a candidate. Income, cash, receivables, and margin are common categories. Start with the metrics leaders already review, then add another only when it has an owner and a clear purpose.
Can the Odoo External API be used?
Yes. Review Odoo's External API documentation. Odoo 19 replaces the legacy XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints (now scheduled for removal) with the External JSON-2 API, and the docs include Python examples. A report may work better for other metrics.
Can I build an Odoo to Metronome integration myself?
Yes. Define each metric and its owner before you write the API calls.
Choose the source in Odoo: Use a report or API record that finance understands and approves. Review Odoo's External API documentation: Odoo 19 replaces the legacy XML-RPC and JSON-RPC endpoints (now scheduled for removal) with the External JSON-2 API, and the docs include Python examples. Keep the accounting calculation somewhere finance can inspect it.
Validate every input: Check that the result is current and has the expected fields, data type, and units. Percentages deserve special attention because one system may represent 27 percent as `27%` while another expects `0.27`. Stop and alert when a value does not pass validation.
Map metrics and dates explicitly: Keep a configuration that maps each Odoo output and column to one Metronome metric ID. Decide whether a weekly value belongs to the start of the interval, the end, or the meeting date. Metronome supports daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly metric frequencies, so the reporting date needs to match how the scorecard is configured.
Update the Metronome actual: Authenticate with an account that can access the intended metrics, read the existing interval, and update the numerical actual for the mapped metric and date. The public Metronome metrics help explains how frequency, measurement type, targets, and scorecard links affect the way an actual is interpreted.
Operationalize around the meeting: Schedule the integration early enough to recover from a failure. Monitor stale results, rejected values, authentication failures, and missed updates. Send the alert to someone who can fix the input before the meeting.
Does doing all of this yourself seem like something you shouldn't be supporting? That's what AutoIDM is here for. AutoIDM is a done-for-you service: no software to train on, no software maintenance, and no software configuration your team needs to worry about.
